Bhaskar Jyoti Ojah is a veteran Sattriya music composer and solo and accompanying percussion artist who is also trained in Sattriya dance and Biyah Kirtania Ojah Pali. A Master degree holder in Tabla from Indira Kala Sangeet Viswavidyalaya, Khairgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Vadya Nipun (Tabla) from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Bhaskar is also formally trained in Tabla from Lucknow Gharana and Khol drums. Bhaskar is a “B” graded artist approved by All India Radio central audition board and also approved khol, flute and dholak artist by All India Radio, Guwahati, Assam. Bhaskar is also empanelled under Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi, as an artist, teacher and performer for foreign countries. Bhaskar’s contribution to music spans across both national and international levels, covering countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Israel, UAE, Turkmenistan and many more. Apart from his musical performances, his works can be easily traced in different forms of art including ballet dance, Sattriya traditional dance, kathak dance, drama, and much more. Bhaskar has performed at numerous prestigious venues world over and along side a plethora of seasoned artists. Apart from his percussion skills, Bhaskar is a multi instrumentalist artist who also has a phenomenal command over the flute and drums. Apart from his compositional and performance works, Bhaskar is currently a flute and drums teacher at Royal Global School, Guwahati, Assam.
